Positive: Appartment was great. everything is clean and the surroundings are quiet, we slept well. Landlords are very nice. Distance to punta penna beach about 10 min by foot. From punta penna you can go to punta libertini beach along the punta penna beach. Parking is by apoartment for free.

Positive: The hosts were lovely and very friendly upon check in, and also when we had an issue with the key (the one for the block door snapped off in the lock so we needed a replacement) they got it resolved quickly even though they were out of town. Easy to check out. The apartment was ready a little earlier than the stated check in time which was really helpful as we got there earlier than planned. The apartment was very spacious and perfect for families. Short walk down the road to the beach, it was a lovely quiet beach and much better and more interesting than the busy one in Vasto. We went in April and it was unusually cold for the time of year (so the locals said - it felt warm at times to us!) but I can imagine it would be very beautiful in summer. Short, quiet drive down to Vasto which had lovely shops, restaurants, etc. the apartment was very clean and had a modern kitchen etc. The apartment itself was brilliant and much larger than expected. We didn’t cook as we ate out but the kitchen had everything needed for preparing a meal. There was also a dining table and chairs, and a sofa. The lighthouse next door was really special, especially at night when it lit up and guided us home when driving back from Vasto, the kids really enjoyed that.

Negative: The photos are very clever as you don’t see the buildings around the apartment. This came as quite a shock when we arrived as the area looks very run down, there is rubbish, old abandoned vehicles, scruffy stray cats etc. We actually had no issues at all and always felt safe, even when returning in the evening, but it was a bit intimidating upon arriving. Also we booked this apartment as it said it was ‘beach front.’ I had pictured in my head a lovely apartment block over looking the sea, with a balcony offering sea views and we could literally step out on to the beach. In actual fact although it’s right near the sea, there are buildings on each side surrounding it so sea views are limited (beautiful view from one bedroom but that’s about it) and you have to walk all the way down the road and round to reach the beach, around a 10 min walk. This was fine as our kids (5 and 9) are used to walking but had we had toddlers this would have been really annoying. The balcony also fronts the ugly buildings in front so we didn’t feel comfortable sitting on it. Top floor apartment which meant lots of steps to walk up with suitcases, it was a good work out for us but may be an issue for someone older/with small children/buggies etc. There was a little noise from the other flats at times (mainly coughing and loud voices) but this wasn’t a huge issue. The stairwell smelt smoky/stale at times and sometimes a hint of this did get into the flat, it wasn’t all the time but just a couple of times.

Summary: Lovely, clean and spacious apartment with friendly hosts, area wasn’t quite as expected
